"The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity."
The gilman scholarship made my semester abroad possible. Not only did the scholarship financialy enable me, it created an opportunity for me to combine both my international relations and art history majors. studying abroad as an american citizen puts much of the world into perspective, and enlightens us on the different ways cultures thrive and countries grow. this insight is invaluable for any student who strives to make their home a better place and become a global citizen.
